I explore the relationship between humans and the world we inhabit through the medium of landscape. My work often begins with scenes I encounter by chance in everyday life, yet it aims to move beyond simple documentation to reveal the time, sensations, and unseen relations that reside within them.
For me, landscape is not a single, fixed image but a perceptual structure in which climate, season, light, humidity, the presence of human and non-human beings, memory, and emotion intertwine. My interest lies in how perception operates within this structure and how humans receive and interpret it.
Recently, I have been extending this inquiry from photography into sound. By collecting and reconstructing environmental sounds, artificial noises, and voices from specific sites, I create situations where visible and audible landscapes collide and overlap. Through these auditory experiences, which are often difficult to capture in images, the audience is invited to see and listen at the same time. In this way, sound functions as a complementary medium that enables a more layered perception of landscape.
The internet seems to connect the world. Binding people to people, cultures, nature. But the screen is always incomplete. Completion happens only through direct experience. In the moment of seeing, hearing, stepping on the earth, feeling the wind, only then does it become whole. My work begins from these physical experiences.
Pouring coffee is different from drinking it. Care plants is different from just looking at them. Entering nature is different from just passing by.
Doing versus not doing. Connected versus completed.
All my work starts from the physical point.
